Summary

This study proposed an eco-friendly fabrication process for hydrophilic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-based sponge using sugar templates and PDMS-b-PEO block copolymer additives. By manipulating sugar loadings, the porosity of the sponge was controlled, enhancing absorption capacity and oil–water separation speed, and surface modification achieved a stable separation efficiency greater than 99.9%.
