Summary

This study aims to understand adolescents’ online participation by comparing them with adults, identifying factors predicting their online activities. The analysis revealed that social trust, online networks, and internet literacy influence participation in recreational, altruistic, and political content creation, with bridging networks playing a particularly important role for adolescents. Furthermore, different aspects of internet literacy (skill, information, and creation) were found to affect participation areas differently.

속칭 ‘디지털 네이티브’들의 성향이나 행동방식의 차이 들이 강조되면서 한 편으로는 이것이 세대 차이를 만들어내는 부정적이 측면이 한 편으로는 이들의 이타적이고 관계적인 행동들이 부각되면서 희망적 측면이 부각되기도 한다. 이들을 이해한다는 것은 이들이 어떻게 길러지는지를 이해하는 것이고 더 넓게는 성장기 (Childhood) 개념이 미디어화하면서 어떻게 변화하고 있는가에 대한 고찰을 요구한다. 이 세미나 수업은 크게 가족 커뮤니케이션, 미디어와 사회화, 정체성 형성과 네트워크 커뮤니케이션, 디지털 미디어와 학습, 디지털 리터러시 개념과 효과 등의 주제를 다룬다.
