Summary

This study aims to quantitatively analyze the relationship between Ground Coverage Ratio (GCR) and Land Surface Temperature (LST) in residential areas of Seoul to understand the impact of buildings on the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon. GCR represents the building coverage ratio within a unit area and allows for more detailed analysis than building coverage ratio due to differences in analysis units. Statistical analysis revealed a strong linear relationship between LST and GCR.
