This study analyzes the impact of changes in the candidate selection process of major political parties in the 19th presidential election on voter perception. Changes in the party's primary election system to enhance voter participation improved voter awareness, and voters with strong party identification and those with extreme ideologies were more likely to be aware of the primary process. Interest in politics and efforts to obtain information through SNS also had a positive impact on awareness of the primary election system.
