Summary

This study developed and validated design strategies for an emotion regulation supporting e-learning interface to facilitate learners' self-regulated learning. The strategies, consisting of learning plan, mood adjustment, emotional expression, and seeking social support, positively influenced learners’ positive emotions and reduced negative emotions. This contributes to the expansion of instructional design theory and suggests the need for integrated instructional design methods to promote self-regulated learning in emotional dimensions.
