Summary

This study analyzed gender differences in self-neglect and associated risk factors among elderly individuals nationwide. While no significant difference was found in self-neglect levels between genders, age and class perception were risk factors for men, and monthly income, living alone, and life satisfaction were risk factors for women. Depression and social support were common risk factors for both genders, highlighting the need for gender-specific policy approaches and a strengthened social safety net.
