Summary

This study investigated the ways and difficulties science teachers experience when using analogies in teaching electric circuits through interviews with eight science teachers in the Seoul metropolitan area. The analysis revealed that teachers mainly used water circuit analogies based on textbooks, with insufficient consideration of the appropriateness of the analogy or the differences between concepts. The difficulties teachers faced were derived from various aspects such as analogy materials, learners, textbooks, and teachers themselves.
