Summary

This study aimed to establish an effective and high-throughput cultivar identification system for lettuce by developing core SNP marker sets through genotyping by sequencing (GBS), identifying 17,877 high-quality SNPs. The developed SNP marker sets were validated using the Fluidigm platform, and phylogenetic analysis successfully discriminated individual cultivars. These core SNP markers will support the construction of a DNA database useful for cultivar identification, purity testing, and DUS testing.
