Summary

This study examines the characteristics of ‘compressed growth’ demonstrated by Yun Jae’s *Munye Dokbon* and its literary historical significance. *Munye Dokbon* as a modern-oriented textbook, embodies the meaning of ‘literary arts’ representing artistic works such as poems and novels, and ‘literature’ referring to the study of them in the upper and lower volumes respectively, opening up the possibility of communication between ‘literary Korean’ and ‘Korean literature’.
