Summary

During the Japanese colonial period, traditional children's song education faced a crisis, and school poetry education was unified as Japanese vocal music education. Choi Nam-seon made efforts for Korean vocal music education and reworked traditional folk songs into children's songs, forming a counter-discourse against Japanese vocal music education. His efforts are significant as a resistant poetry education in the private sector and demonstrate a will to inherit the purity of traditional folk songs.
