Summary

This study explores the epistemological paradigm presented by ‘Practice as Research’ in the performing arts and clarifies its concepts and methodology. Practice as Research recognizes the creative process as a research method, the creative work as a research result, and advocates for knowledge exploration through personal experience. It is expected to provide methodological value for artists’ creative activities and contribute to the development of performing arts studies and interdisciplinary research.
