Summary

This study proposes a method for estimating the mean life and reliability of bridge components based on maintenance history data from bridges under the Korea Expressway Corporation, by identifying appropriate life distributions using the maximum likelihood estimation method. The analysis revealed that the log-normal and Weibull distributions best describe the life data of bridge components, with bridge painting having the longest mean life and drainage facilities and bridge bearings having the shortest.
