Summary
This study analyzes international GMO governance issues using the US-Europe trade dispute as a case study. Applying three perspectives of international relations theory (realism, liberalism, and constructivism), the results show that realism is persuasive but overlooks the importance of value variables, and constructivism can contribute to explaining the role of civil society, including NGOs, to some extent.
