This study is a case study investigating the relationships between mother-in-law's family and parents' family among 14 only daughters married within 10 years. The results showed that geographical accessibility and face-to-face contact frequency were closer with the mother-in-law's family, financial support was mainly provided by the mother-in-law's family, and childcare support was received from the parents' family. This suggests that the dependence on the mother-in-law's family's resources during the early stages of marriage influences women's family relationship settings.
