Summary

This study analyzed the lived experiences of people living with HIV/AIDS using a phenomenological approach. The results showed that while experiencing shock and isolation initially, participants found new meaning in life by changing their perception of HIV/AIDS to a manageable disease through contact with medical professionals. Furthermore, with the support of others and self-acceptance, they were able to discover a more mature self and live a socially recognized life.
