Summary

This study explored the characteristics of teaching-learning that promote creativity through observations of social studies and science classes in elementary schools. The results showed that providing real-life context, maintaining students’ curiosity and interest, offering opportunities for knowledge exploration and application, and teachers’ questioning were important factors. Creativity was particularly high in classes where all lessons were connected and diverse experiential activities were provided.
