This study analyzed the changing trends of educational homogamy in Korean society using marriage registration data from 1993 to 2009. The analysis revealed a weakening association between spouses' educational attainment from 1993 to 2007, particularly prominent in the 1990s. This trend is presumed to be related to educational expansion, increased educational opportunities for women, and a decline in the value of academic credentials, but it is difficult to interpret it as a simple increase in social openness.
