Summary

This study explored the relationship between local governments and civil society organizations from the perspective of Gwangju Metropolitan City public officials. The results showed that public officials positively evaluated civil society organizations as cooperative partners and agreed on the need for regional NGO participation in policy-making. Strengthening expertise, fostering civic participation, and building trust with local governments are crucial for NGO activation.
