Summary

This study examined the relationship between maladaptive career thoughts, emotional intelligence, and academic engagement among 333 university students, and investigated the mediating role of emotional intelligence in this relationship. The results showed that higher levels of maladaptive career thoughts were associated with lower emotional intelligence and academic engagement, and emotional intelligence mediated the relationship between maladaptive career thoughts and academic engagement.
