Summary

This study investigated the effects of learning agent gestures and facial expressions on learners' anthropomorphism and cognitive efficiency, according to text and image material types. The results showed that facial expressions were more effective for text materials, while conversational gestures were more effective for image materials. It was confirmed that it is important to appropriately apply expressions and gestures of learning agents according to the type of learning material and to promote social interaction between the learning agent and the learner.
