This study analyzes the residence status and socio-demographic characteristics of spouses of low-skilled migrant workers entering Korea under the non-professional employment (E-9) and visit employment (H-2) visas, and compares the differences in Korean life based on whether they are accompanied by their families. The results show that approximately 6-7% of migrant workers under the Employment Permit System and over 50% of Chinese compatriots under the Visit Employment System reside in Korea with their spouses, and those accompanied by their spouses tend to have longer stays and a higher proportion of other family members residing in Korea.
