Summary

This study explores ways to enhance learners’ socio-languacultural competence by incorporating the TV drama [Misaeng] into an advanced Korean language course. Sociocultural competence includes understanding cultural norms and conventions shared by members of society, alongside communicative ability, and this research aims to bridge the gap between textbook learning and real-world language use through the drama. The project outcomes and their pedagogical implications are discussed based on survey data, contributing to the development of students’ cultural competency.
