This study attempts to define the concept of 'Qihuan' (奇幻), a fantasy literature appearing in Chinese narratives. In the Chinese cultural tradition, 'Qihuan' encompasses bizarre and fictional elements, which are found in various literary forms such as Youxian poetry, Xuanyan poetry, Zhigai, and Chuanqi. With the development of visual culture in the 21st century, fantasy literature is transforming through various media, and 'Qihuan' in particular occupies an important position as a subgenre of fantasy.
