This study compares and analyzes the objectives and contents of the elementary school social studies curriculum in Korea and Japan. Korea covers local communities, national geography, and world geography in geography education, while Japan only covers national geography. Additionally, Korea first learns the basics of economic life and then more profound contents, while Japan starts economic education focusing on production and manufacturing.
