This study aimed to evaluate the visual perceptibility of indoor public signage colors for the visually impaired to derive improvement measures. The experimental results revealed that the color environment in public spaces is insufficiently considerate of the visually impaired, and there is approximately a 4-point difference in conspicuousness and preference in color perception between the disabled and non-disabled. In particular, a contrast of 4 or more is required for the visually impaired to perceive compared to the conspicuousness perceived by non-disabled individuals, and a visual perception difference of approximately 3.0 and 5.0 was observed in lightness and chroma.
