This study examines the phonological and grammatical features of Kaewha Gasa published in newspapers during the Kaewha period. Kaewha Gasa exhibits characteristics of a 4.4 syllable meter, diverse authors, and the newspaper medium, displaying various phonological changes such as lenition of fortis consonants and palatalization, as well as grammatical features like subject and attributive markers. These phenomena reflect the confusion in language use while approaching modern Korean and demonstrate the characteristics of the transition to modern Korean.
