This study investigates students’ and teachers’ perceptions towards a university general English class employing a level-differentiated curriculum. The survey results showed that while students were not highly satisfied with the curriculum, they strongly approved of the need for level differentiation, with beginner-level students benefiting the most. Both students and teachers questioned the difficulties of accurately placing students into appropriate levels.
