Summary

This study analyzed the needs of merchants and users to identify the current status and problems of alley markets in Suwon city and to derive spatial activation plans. The results showed that alley markets are generally in poor condition, and comprehensive measures are needed to improve the physical environment, business and sales environment, and strengthen commercial competitiveness. In particular, market modernization policies, expanded autonomous support programs, and differentiated design development are required.
