This study investigated the protective effects of Opuntia humifusa cladode extracts on atopic dermatitis in NC/Nga mice. The ethanol extract-treated group showed greater protective effects than the water extract-treated group, exhibiting reduced skin lesions, decreased IgE levels, and lower histamine concentrations. These findings suggest the potential of O. humifusa cladode extracts as functional food materials.

면역세포는 흉선에서 발달하여 말초에서 항원을 만나 활성화 되어 암, 자가면역, 병원체 방어에 있어서 중요한 기능을 수행한다. 다양한 면역 세포의 아형 중 선천성 T 세포 (innate T cell)은 흉선에서 기억 세포로 발달하여 말초에서 항원을 만날 경우 즉각적으로 활성화 되어 기존의 T 세포와 구별되며 우리 몸에 있는 T 세포의 20-30%를 차지한다. 선천성 T 세포는 NKT (natural killer T), MAIT (mucosal-associated invariant T), gamma delta T 세포를 포함하여 사람과 마우스에서 공통적인 발달 양상을 보인다. 본 강의는 발표 수업을 통해 선천성 T 세포의 흉선 발달과 다양한 면역 질환에서의 역할에 대해 최신 지견을 습득하는 것을 목표로 한다.
