This study explored the individual and environmental factors influencing the professional development of female scientists through in-depth interviews. The results indicated that individual factors such as contemplation and decision-making, and academic passion, along with environmental factors like a positive family atmosphere and mentorship, positively impacted professional development, while negative environmental factors such as career interruption posed challenges.
