This study examined the relationship between marital types based on the degree of psychological autonomy in marital relationships and marital quality, and investigated the mediating effect of conflict resolution strategies. The results showed that marital quality was highest in groups where both spouses achieved balanced autonomy, and promotion and cooperation in conflict resolution strategies were high. This suggests that pursuing the autonomy of each spouse and balanced psychological autonomy are important for the quality of marital relationships.
