This study aimed to identify the toponymic system of the Korean peninsula in the late Joseon period by classifying and analyzing the toponyms recorded in the manuscript *Cheonggudo*. The analysis revealed that the number of toponyms was highest in Gyeongsangdo, Jeollado, and Pyeongan-do, and the most common types of toponyms were bangri, mountains, passes, and islands/coastal areas. Through this research, the correlation between the toponyms in *Cheonggudo* and the geographical environment was clarified, confirming the regional characteristics and uniqueness.
