Summary

This study aimed to identify problems with the existing quarantine zone settings by utilizing network analysis to analyze the diffusion rate of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). Based on FMD occurrence data and road network information, transmission time was calculated, and straight-line and road distance travel speeds were analyzed, resulting in an average straight-line diffusion rate of 53.9km/day and a road distance diffusion rate of 71.1km/day. This suggests the need for improvement in the current quarantine zone settings.
