This study investigated the effects of oyster shell and calcium-magnesium carbonate as soil amendments on barley productivity and soil microbes in an upland soil. The highest barley yield was observed in the oyster shell treatment, while the highest protein content was found in the calcium-magnesium carbonate treatment. Furthermore, oyster shell treatment increased soil pH and positively influenced the proliferation of soil bacteria and actinomycetes.
