Summary

This study investigated the control strategies used by academic Korean learners to manage speaking anxiety during presentations, categorizing them into cognitive, affective, and functional strategies. The results showed differences in strategy usage across learner proficiency levels, with high-achieving learners primarily employing functional strategies. This suggests that the use of functional strategies significantly contributes to successful presentations, highlighting the need for anxiety control strategy instruction focused on functional strategies in future presentation courses for academic learners.
