Summary

This study aimed to explore and validate achievement strategy types used by high school students in preparing for exams, employing methods such as free response surveys, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, cluster analysis, and variance analysis. The analysis revealed four achievement strategy types: optimism, extensive thought and effort, self-sabotage, and passive strategies, with differences observed across gender, self-esteem, achievement goal orientation, and life satisfaction. This research provides insights into the actual achievement strategies of high school students and can contribute to the development of intervention programs that promote adaptive achievement strategies.
