Summary

This study investigates the perceptions of student teachers and cooperating teachers regarding the role of cooperating teachers in English student teaching. The survey results revealed that both groups considered English teaching ability and understanding of secondary school students as important roles of cooperating teachers. While student teachers expected cooperating teachers to provide professional support such as feedback and teaching modeling, cooperating teachers emphasized providing tips for applying knowledge to real classroom settings and promoting professional development as an English teacher.
