This study examines the different versions of Hyeon Jin-geon's *Jisaeneun An-gae*, analyzing the variations in narrative style and content between the serializations in *Chosun Ilbo* and *Gaebyeok*, and the single-volume edition. It highlights the stabilization of the narrative viewpoint in the *Gaebyeok* version and the addition of new characters and scenes in the single-volume edition, leading to changes in the narrative features. Furthermore, it suggests that the high reader interest and the author's economic circumstances influenced the publication of the single-volume edition.
