Summary

This study analyzed the changes in school violence roles by grade in schools with hierarchical senior-junior relationships and investigated the causes of the continuation of this structure. The results showed that students experienced a cycle of victim-offender-bystander roles depending on their grade and tended to internalize and justify the hierarchical order. Furthermore, the structure reproducing violence was found to originate from school culture and inadequate responses from teachers.
