This study investigated the effect of a narrative music therapy program on improving the speaking behavior of a child with selective mutism through a single-subject case study. The results showed a significant improvement in the child's speaking behavior during the music therapy intervention, and an improved result was observed in the maintenance phase compared to the initial language class. These findings suggest that music therapy can positively impact the communication skills of children with selective mutism.
