This study explores Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching as an alternative discourse to overcome the theoretical limitations of social work practice relationships. Through Lao Tzu's philosophy, the study sets ‘natural humanism’ as the direction of social work practice, defines the practice relationship as a complementary existence, and emphasizes the role of social workers as reflective practitioners.
