Summary

This study analyzed the disability-free life expectancy for cognitive impairment among middle-aged and older adults in Korea, categorized by gender and education level using the Korea Longitudinal Study of Aging data. The results showed that a significant portion of the remaining life expectancy for both men and women is associated with cognitive impairment, and while women have a longer overall life expectancy, this does not translate to a higher quality of life. Furthermore, clear differences in life expectancy free from cognitive impairment were observed based on education level for both genders.
