Summary

This study explores the perceptions of three Korean eighth-grade students regarding primary and secondary school English education. The results indicate that the students perceive English test scores as the main trigger for their English learning and hold negative perceptions of their school English education. They also believe that communicative-action-based English teaching is an effective method.
