Summary

This study aims to classify cities in the Seoul Metropolitan Area based on natural disaster vulnerability and to propose differentiated disaster reduction plans tailored to each type. Three factors—topographic intrinsic vulnerability, non-urbanity, and disaster prevention capability—were extracted through principal component analysis, and cities were classified into four types using k-medians cluster analysis. Finally, differentiated disaster reduction plans considering the characteristics of each type were proposed.
