Summary

This study estimated Korean coffee demand and analyzed price elasticity, income elasticity, and cross-price elasticity using urban household survey data from 2003-2012. The results showed that coffee is inelastic and has the characteristics of a necessity good, is complementary to cigarettes, and is consumed more by men than women and by those in their 50s than other age groups.
