Summary

This study examined the effects of inductive and hypothetico-deductive methods on preschoolers’ scientific process skills and problem-solving abilities in a soil drainage science activity. The results indicated that the inductive method, emphasizing free experimentation and exploration, was more effective in enhancing preschoolers’ scientific abilities than the hypothetico-deductive method. The study also confirmed the need to consider the age and socioeconomic status of the children.
