Summary

This study analyzed the impact of social capital levels on Gwondang culture and positive factors for regional development among 600 residents in Jeju Island. The results showed that higher levels of network and participation were associated with a greater recognition of the need for Gwondang culture, and higher levels of norms and participation were associated with a significant impact of Gwondang culture on regional development. This suggests that fostering social capital can contribute to regional development by utilizing Gwondang culture.
