Summary

This study investigated the perceptions and preferences of Korean and international university students regarding English Medium Instruction (EMI) taught by Korean instructors. Survey results showed no significant differences between the groups in their perceptions of EMI effectiveness and the need to improve EMI courses regarding teacher quality, teaching methods, and student learning assessment, but differences were found in preferred class activities. International students preferred group work on presentations, assignments, and discussions, and both groups opposed expanding EMI to general and major elective courses or increasing mandatory EMI credits.
