Summary

This study comparatively analyzed the impact of cultural orientation in Korea, the United States, and Sweden on consumers' charitable giving behavior. The results showed that Korea's donation propensity was significantly lower than that of the United States and Sweden, and horizontal collectivism had the greatest influence on charitable giving in all three countries. The study suggests that promoting a culture of giving requires sharing horizontal collectivist values throughout society and providing systematic volunteering experiences from a young age.
