Summary

This research performed multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) for a vehicle front suspension subframe shape and thickness using the PIDO technique. Design alternatives satisfying various performance requirements such as weight, fatigue, crash, NVH, and K&C were derived, and three types of optimization problems were defined according to the priority order to provide results for various design situations.
